$10M Grant from State of Wyoming to Riverton Medical District Completes Funding Needed for New Hospital

November 17, 2022:

Riverton Medical District is pleased to announce it has secured $54 million in funding needed to build a new hospital. On November 16, 2022, the Wyoming State Loan and Investment Board approved a $10 million grant from the State of Wyoming for the project. In securing the grant, low-interest loan, and other funding to cover the projected cost of the new hospital, the citizen-led effort will continue to move forward. It allows the Riverton Medical District team to take the next steps toward creating a new locally owned and governed health care facility.

Riverton Medical District Takes Major Step Toward New Hospital

April 11, 2022: Riverton Medical District has been awarded a USDA Rural Development loan of $37 million dollars for the project. This is the largest award it has ever provided in Wyoming. This welcome news is important for the community leaders’ plans to move forward and allow the Riverton Medical District team to take the next steps for creating a new locally owned and governed health care facility.

Riverton Medical District Signs Letter of Intent to Affiliate with Billings Clinic

May 19, 2021: During these unprecedented times, a group of Riverton business and community leaders is making Wyoming health care history with plans to build a new hospital in Riverton. Today, the effort is taking a major step forward as the Riverton Medical District announces it has signed a Letter of Intent to pursue affiliation and clinical partnership with Billings Clinic, cementing the group’s strong focus on local health care with a trusted partner.

Ensure access to safe, high-quality primary and secondary healthcare services and facilities in Riverton

Our goals

Restore medical staffing and services to Riverton Hospital or a suitable alternative to support: Level III Emergency Room, diagnostic services, OB/GYN services, and 24-hour inpatient surgical services

Recruit and retain physicians for Riverton

Work cooperatively with a hospital management firm that has the resources, ability, and desire to engage in dialogue with Riverton residents for the purpose of understanding and fulfilling Riverton's acute care and emergency medical needs
